Steve grew up near Parramatta in the Sydney Western Suburbs and completed a dual Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1985. He commenced practising in the Sydney CBD at Heidtman & Co, where he became a Partner, specialising in Banking & Finance Law. During this time he acted for a number of major Banks and Securitized Lenders.
He moved to Kiama in 1998 with his then young Family, and worked with several Illawarra and Shoalhaven legal firms as a Consultant before joining Kearns & Garside in 2000, which merged with another large regional law firm in 2005.
