Ashleigh has been a South Coast local her entire life and has made a vow to always live a short distance from the sea breeze. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Wollongong and completed her Graduate Diploma at the College of Law in 2020.
Ashleigh was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW and High Court of Australia in 2020. She has worked predominately in the Illawarra region and recently rejoined the Carter Ferguson team in July 2022.
Ashleigh has delved into many areas of practice and is always keen to expand her knowledge of the legal world. She has discovered her passion lies in the areas of family and employment law, assisting families and individuals with navigating one of the most difficult and stressful periods of their lives.
Ashleigh prides herself on her commonsense approach to issues and advocates for matters be resolved via dispute resolution mechanisms in the first instance. However, she understands that some matters cannot be resolved amicably and will require intervention from the Court. That being said, Ashleigh understands that litigation can be expensive, time-consuming and exhausting which is why she aims to ensure that her client’s feel comfortable and supported throughout the entire process.
Ashleigh has learnt from some of our best solicitors and hopes to use their knowledge and experience to shape her own professional character. Ashleigh’s double degree in Journalism has allowed her to perfect her writing and communication skills and she hopes to utilise these skills to provide an environment where clients feel comfortable and confident in her abilities.
Outside of work and study, Ashleigh likes to make the most of her down time and put down her technology. She loves to keep active in the gym and explore new places outside her comfort zone. Europe is one of many places Ashleigh has explored in her early years and hopes to add as many countries as she can to her list.
